Rebecca Durance Hines Speaks

On July 20, 2017, at the age of 28, Rebecca Durance Hines was diagnosed with triple positive (estrogen, progesterone, and HER2 positive), stage one, Invasive Ductal Carcinoma that was grade 3, meaning it was one of the more aggressive forms of breast cancer. The weeks following her diagnosis were the absolute hardest. It was terrifying, confusing, and exhausting.

In the midst of all of these decisions and all of that pressure to try and predict the future and make the right call, she had an epiphany: She became aware that she was waiting for someone to tell me exactly what to do, “Do this and you will be okay”. She describes herself as a recovering people pleaser.

She believes that profound change and personal growth is possible in the face of our greatest challenges and that there is always light to the dark.
